Life Updates!

It's been a while, but I'm still here!! A lot has happened in the past five weeks. Actually, majority has happened in the last two. Before that, my brother graduated high school, which was awesome despite the fact that it rained, and we took a week-long vacation in the Poconos. I'd actually love to talk about the Poconos, but we'll save that for another time because frankly, there is just so much to share!

Last week, I took a 46-hour trip to the beautiful city I'm going to call home soon, and signed a lease!! I'm super pumped about this, and though I still don't have a job, I feel better about next year because I have a place to live.

I was in the lovely state of North Carolina for Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, and a tad bit of Friday morning. On Thursday around 11am I got offered an interview at 2:00pm that very same day (talk about a lot of prep time!). I was, in fact, already wearing interview appropriate clothing, but I did not bring any resumes with me. Nor my computer. After a lot of searching online, using the computer of a faculty member of my college (which I was visiting at the time), I found one and was able to print some copies. The interview went well, and though I was really nervous, I felt better once I walked in and found out I already knew two of the three interviewees. No word on the position yet so we'll see!

Today, Wednesday (I know it's actually just after midnight so it's Thursday but I don't care), I bought a bed! I have spent many hours in multiple stores and looking online, so I'm super glad to have this done. Unfortunately, it takes them 3-5 weeks to deliver because Raymour and Flanigan doesn't have any stores south of Maryland, so it probably won't be there for at least week after I do, but at least I know it's coming.

I have another interview tomorrow (!!) though I don't actually know what position it's for. This district is hiring a lot of teachers this year, so it could be an open interview. We'll just have to see. I'm trying to keep an open eye out right now. :)

A lot of people have asked me when I'm moving. And I couldn't answer them. Which was bothering me to no end. Also, because I didn't know myself, and that's what was really bothering me. Since the last week of June, I have been trying to schedule an appointment with a doctor. Becuase this procedure actually requires three visits, their earliest availability then was the first week of August. For the first appointment. Which I couldn't do. And yes, I could go to the doctor in North Carolina and have it done there, but it would be a lot more expensive because it's out of state.

On Monday, I called the doctor back near their closing time to see if they had anything available (it had been a while since I asked so you never know!). They didn't. Their next available time was August 24, four days before school starts. Definitely a no go. Tuesday morning at 9:15, Glen (the scheduling guy I've spoken with about 8 times or so) called me with an availability on July 21, in other words, next week. I asked him what time, but it wasn't like I was actually going to say no at this point.
God has definitely been watching out for me with this one.

With that in mind, I will be leaving for North Carolina on July 24 after church, or in the morning on July 25. Things are still up in the air, as I have to see a doctor again on the 29th, I may fly up the day before, see the doctor, and then drive down with my dad. Or I may see a doctor in NC. But the first two appointments are on the calendar and we are going to go from there!

That's about all! I'd say more, but as I mentioned already, it's after midnight and I do actually have an interview tomorrow! I'll be back soon!
